Mark Soweto Day - this is South Africa

Mark Soweto Day by sharing in a celebration of culture from the South of Africa.

Enjoy live performances from emerging African and Caribbean talent

Help us launch Ubuntu Botho, a South African community group based in Glasgow, most of whom lived under Apartheid in South Africa for many years. Many are nurses and some treated victims of the state violence visited on the youths of Soweto that day!

Hear emotional authentic South African liberation songs sung by the members of the Ubuntu Botho choir.

Then dance the night away to Hip Hop, Kwaito, R&B, Township Jive. Live DJ till 1am. Licensed bar till 1am.

FREE ENTRY FOR REFUGEES, only £4 for everyone else.

Thanks to Roshni, Scottish Refugee Council & Big Lottery for support.

The Line Up is as follows:

The highlight will undoubtedly be the choir of Ubuntu Botho. They are all South Africans, most lived under apartheid, one nursed some of the wounded in Soweto. They will be singing liberation songs and they are not to be missed.

This is not them :-)
